SEMS Screws: Washer Configuration and Factory Ordering

At a glance

Specify the screw and washer combination together, then confirm assembly clearance, material, finish and batch demand.

Specify the complete assembly

SEMS ordering starts with the screw head, drive, thread and retained washer configuration. State whether you need a flat washer, a spring washer or a combination. Include washer inside diameter, outside diameter, thickness and order in the assembly.

Check the installed envelope

Check the space occupied by the head and washers, tool access and usable thread length against the mating parts. Retaining the washer helps keep components together during handling; it does not by itself establish resistance to loosening in your application.

Prepare a batch specification

Send a drawing or approved sample reference, material, finish, batch quantity and delivery schedule. Confirm inspection criteria and packing before production. If washer arrangement or coating changes, review the complete assembly again rather than ordering only by screw diameter.
