A purchasing guide to the M39–M64 scope, assembly requirements and documentation for GB/T 32076.7.
Check the standard scope
GB/T 32076.7-2015 covers M39–M64 large-width-across-flats hexagon bolt and nut assemblies for preloaded structural connections. It is not a general specification for every high strength bolt or every metric diameter.
The official Chinese standard record lists publication on 9 October 2015 and implementation on 1 June 2016. Identify the required edition in the purchase specification and check the project documents before ordering.
Specify the assembly
Describe the bolt and nut combination, and identify any washers required by the project. State the diameter, pitch, length, property class, finish and required quantities for each component. A bolt that looks similar is not evidence that the complete assembly meets the same requirements.
Keep delivery identification and inspection records with the supplied lots. When reviewing alternatives, compare dimensional and assembly requirements before agreeing to substitute another standard.
Agree the installation requirements
A strength class alone does not establish an installation torque. Ask the project engineer to identify the required preload, tightening method and acceptance checks. Confirm that any supplied lubrication and coating match the agreed installation procedure.
Do not assume that a torque value used on a smaller bolt, another coating or a different assembly can be scaled directly to an M39–M64 connection.
Before issuing a purchase order
Attach the approved drawing and standard edition. Ask the supplier to confirm dimensional compliance, assembly identification, required mechanical tests, coating details and traceability documents. Record any proposed deviation explicitly so that the project team can review it before manufacture.
